Global VSAT - Uniting the World
VSAT services have found new global customers
as a less-expensive broadband option
Very Small Aperture Terminal satellite
services have been a staple among retail businesses for many years, now with
new technologies VSAT is no longer limited to vertical markets.
Over the years VSAT satellite services have
been attractive to enterprise customers that need to reach hundreds or
thousands of locations with low-bandwidth data connectivity. VSAT offered IP
and an abundance of bidirectional services as well. For that reason, VSAT
offerings for small businesses became a relatively affordable alternative,
dynamically changing the VSAT market over the last decade.
Early VSAT installations were generally in
remote areas with only one-way support. - IP is now the de-facto network
standard allowing satellite companies to reduce their costs and decrease the
complexity of their networks.
While VSAT users have supported IP traffic
over their networks for many years, it typically has been one of several
protocols. Emerging technologies now offer a large variety of features and
options which have resulted in rapid expansion of VSAT networks and services
worldwide. |
